Announcement for Finals Week and the Winter Break | Dec. 15 - Jan. 2

Parking for Finals Week and the Winter Break

From Monday, Dec. 15, through Friday, Jan. 2, there will be open-parking in all general-use spaces on campus surface lots and garages. Permits are not necessary to park during this time.

Please note that certain areas on campus are excluded from open-parking, such as pay-to-park areas where time limits are still enforced (Lots A, C, and the seven spaces in M), ADA spaces (reserved for those with an ADA permit), reserved spaces, loading zones, motorcycle areas, carpool spaces, compact stalls, visitor spaces, EV charging spaces, driveways, drive aisles, and fire lanes. These areas are enforced 24/7.

Evening Shuttle Service Extended for Prep Week

From Monday, Dec. 8, through Thursday, Dec. 11, evening shuttle service will be extended until 12 A.M. midnight to assist those studying and preparing for finals at the Criss Library.

Shuttle Service for Finals Week and the Winter Break

From Monday, Dec. 15, through Thursday, Dec. 18, campus shuttles will run with limited service from 7 A.M. to 6 P.M. for finals week.

There will be no shuttle service from Monday, Dec. 22, through Friday, Jan. 2, due to the winter break.

Thanksgiving Holiday | Nov. 26 - 30

Parking for the Holiday Break

From Wednesday, Nov. 26 through Sunday, Nov. 30, there will be open-parking in all general-use spaces on campus surface lots and garages. Permits are not necessary to park during this time. Parking and Transit Services will be closed for the holiday beginning Thursday, Nov. 27. Office hours and regular parking enforcement will resume on Monday, Dec. 1.

Please note that certain areas on campus are excluded from open-parking, such as pay-to-park areas where time limits are still enforced (Lots A, C, and the seven spaces in M), ADA spaces (reserved for those with an ADA permit), reserved spaces, loading zones, motorcycle areas, carpool spaces, compact stalls, visitor spaces, EV charging spaces, driveways, drive aisles, and fire lanes. These areas are enforced 24/7.

Shuttle Service for the Holiday Break

On Wednesday, Nov. 26, campus shuttles will run with limited service from 8 A.M. to 6 P.M. During this time, they will be servicing the Scott Court, Scott Crossing, and Criss Library stops only. Please note that there will be no shuttle service to the Pacific Parking Garage, Maverick/University Village, Milo Bail Student Center, H&K, PKI, and Mammel Hall stops.

On Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, there will be no shuttle service. Routine shuttle service will resume on Monday, Dec. 1.

Fall Break Open-Parking | Oct. 20-21

From Monday, Oct. 20 through Tuesday, Oct. 21, there will be open-parking i general-use parking stalls in all surface lots and garages. Excluded spaces will be enforced.

Please note that certain areas on campus are excluded from open-permit parking, such as pay-to-park areas where time limits are still enforced (Lots A, C, and the seven spaces in M), ADA spaces (reserved for those with an ADA permit), reserved spaces, loading zones, motorcycle areas, carpool spaces, compact stalls, visitor spaces, EV charging spaces, driveways, drive aisles, and fire lanes. These areas are enforced 24/7.

Regular enforcement resumes Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Fall Break Shuttle Service | Oct. 20-21

From Monday, Oct. 20 through Tuesday, Oct.21, shuttles will run with limited service from 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. and will only service the Criss Library, Scott Crossing/Hall, and Scott Court stops. 

There will be no shuttle service to the Pacific Parking Garage, Peter Kiewit Institute, Mammel Hall, H&K, Maverick/University Village, or Milo Bail Student Center during Limited service.  Riders that need to travel to and from Mammel Hall and/or the Pacific Parking Garage can be picked up and dropped off from the Scott Crossing/Hall stop. 

Routine service resumes on Wednesday, Oct. 22.  

Shuttle App Available | Updated Oct. 20

The new UNO Shuttle App is available. Work is still being performed behind the scenes, so please report any issues to unoshuttles@unomaha.edu so we can relay them to the vendor. Our apologies for any confusion or frustration as we work to provide a better app experience.

Shuttle App Unavailable | Updated Oct. 13

The UNO Shuttle App is available, but is not quite fully functional. Work is still being performed behind the scenes to program the GPS equipment, the routes, and the schedules. Our apologies for any confusion or frustration as we work to provide a better app experience.

Parking Office Closed | Sept. 1

UNO Parking and Transit Services will be closed on Monday, Sept. 1, in observance of the campus wide holiday. We will return to regular business hours on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Shuttle App Unavailable | Updated Aug. 27

The UNO Shuttle App will be unavailable this week as work to improve it is being completed. It should be up and available by the end of this week or early next week. We will update here as we learn more. Our apologies for any confusion or frustration as we work to provide a better app experience.

Limited Permit Sales | Updated Aug. 27

Faculty/Staff West Garage permits sales have hit their limit and are no longer available.

Student Commuter East Garage permits have hit their limit and are no longer available.

Student Commuter West Garage permits have hit their limit and are no longer available.

Faculty/Staff East Garage permits are nearing their limits.

If a permit you wish to purchase has reached its limit, you can email unoparking@unomaha.edu to be added to the waitlist.

2025-2026 Retired Permits Available | July 1

Permits for UNO retirees are available beginning Tuesday, July 1. Please contact unoparking@unomaha.edu 402.554.7275 to set up the Retired permit. Please have your current vehicle and plate information ready.

Open Parking | Aug. 1

UNO will observe open-parking in all general-use spaces beginning Friday, August 1. Excluded spaces will be enforced. Regular enforcement begins Monday, August 25.

2025-2026 Annual and Fall Permit Sales Begin | Aug. 5

To provide the best customer experience and prevent any possible issues with the email migration occurring August 1-4, parking permits for the 2025-2026 parking year will go on sale at 8 A.M. on Tuesday, August 5. There have been no changes to rates from the previous year. The East and West Garage have limited sales, and will be shut off once sold out. Regular enforcement begins Monday, August 25.

Shuttle App | June 25 - Aug. 1

The app used for tracking shuttles will be down beginning Wednesday, June 25 as we prepare for the new academic year. Shuttle service will continue the same limited service between 8 A.M. and 6 P.M.

Parking for Summer | May 19 - July 31

UNO will observe valid-permit parking Monday, May 19, through Thursday, July 31. A valid UNO parking permit will be required to park in any general-use spaces but permit restrictions are relaxed, so a surface lot permit may park in the garages, or vice versa.

Summer permits go on sale for those without annual permits on Monday, May 12 at 8:00 A.M.

These areas are enforced 24/7.

Shuttle Service for Summer | May 19 - Aug. 15

From Monday, May 19 through Friday, Aug. 15, shuttles will run with limited service from 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. and will service the Criss Library, Scott Crossing/Hall, and Scott Court stops.  There will be no shuttle service on Monday, May 26 and Friday, July 4, when UNO is closed to observe Memorial Day and Independence Day.   

There will be no shuttle service to the Pacific Parking Garage, Peter Kiewit Institute, Mammel Hall, H&K, Maverick/University Village, or Milo Bail Student Center during Summer service.  Riders that need to travel to and from Mammel Hall and/or the Pacific Parking Garage can be picked up and dropped off from the Scott Crossing/Hall stop. 

Routine service will resume on Monday, Aug. 18.  

Friday Parking | Reminder

On Fridays, Dodge Campus observes permit-free or open parking for general-use spaces in the East Parking Garage (EPG) and West Parking Garage (WPG); and Scott Campus observes permit-free or open parking for general-use spaces in the Pacific Parking Garage (PPG) and Lot 5.

Surface lots and all other parking facilities are enforced and require a valid permit from 7 A.M. to 5 P.M. on Fridays.

Park Omaha lots A, C, and the seven (7) designated spaces in lot M are enforced for payment and time limit from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M. on Fridays.

Excluded spaces are enforced during Friday relaxation 24/7/365. More information can be found at Parking Enforcement and the Parking Enforcement Schedule (PDF).
