Parking Office Closed for Chancellor's Open House | December 9

The Parking and Transit Services office will be closed Friday, December 9 from 12:30 P.M. - 2 P.M. to allow staff to attend the Chancellor's Open House.

Thanksgiving Break | November 23 - 27

UNO will observe open-parking from Wednesday, November 23 through Sunday, November 27. No permits are required to park in general-use spaces during open-parking.

Excluded areas on campus, which are enforced 24/7, include pay-to-park locations (Lots A, C and the seven (7) designated spaces in M), ADA spaces (prohibited to those without a ADA permit), reserved spaces, loading zones, motorcycle areas, carpool spaces, compact stalls, visitor spaces, EV charging spaces, driveways, drive aisles, and fire lanes.

On Wednesday, November 23, shuttles will run limited service from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M., and will service Scott Hall, Scott Crossing, Criss Library, Mammel Hall, and Pacific Parking Garage stops. There will be no shuttle service on Thursday, November 24 or Friday, November 25 due to the closure for the holiday. Routine service will resume on Monday, November 28.

Parking and Transit Services Offices Closed | November 23 - 27

Our office will be closed beginning at 3 P.M. on Wednesday, November 23 through the Thanksgiving Break. We will re-open on Monday, November 28 at 8 A.M. We will check our email unoparking@unomaha.edu when we return.

Shuttle Cold Weather Service Begins | November 28

Campus shuttle service will transition into cold weather service starting on Monday, November 28. During cold weather service, shuttles will attempt to load and unload in the quickest and safest manner to shorten wait times at the shuttle stops during the colder months. Pick-up and drop-off times listed on the UNO shuttle tracker app may not be as accurate during this time, but the GPS issues have been resolved and should be accurate.

Spring Permits On Sale | December 12

As a reminder, fall-only permits expire on Sunday, December 11. Sales of spring semester permits begins on Monday, December 12. Permits can be purchased on MavPark. Spring semester permits are valid for the January Session and Spring Semester.

Open-Parking for Finals and Winter Shutdown | December 12 - January 2

There will be open-parking for finals week and the winter shutdown from Monday, December 12 through Monday, January 2. Permits will be required to park on campus beginning Tuesday, January 3.

Visit our Parking Enforcement Schedule to see the descriptions of the different types of enforcement and a calendar of when they are applied.

January Session (J-Term) | January 3 - 20

Valid UNO permits are required for the January Session, but lot restrictions are relaxed during this session, from Tuesday, January 3 through Friday, January 20. Any vehicle with a valid UNO permit may park in any garage or surface lot general-use space on campus. There will be open-parking on Monday, January 16 as UNO is closed to observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Shuttles will run limited service from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M. during J-Term, and will service Scott Hall, Scott Crossing, Criss Library, Mammel Hall, and Pacific Parking Garage stops. There will be no shuttle service on Monday, January 16 as UNO is closed to observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Southbound 67th Street Update | October 31

The southbound lane is reportedly open again.

Southbound 67th Street Blocked | October 31

The southbound lane of 67th Street south of Pacific is blocked as of 7 A.M. on Monday, October 31. No information on this project or its completion has been provided to UNO Parking and Transit Services. The Pacific Parking Garage can be accessed from the south as the northbound lane is currently not blocked. Shuttles are re-routing, and some delays should be expected.

Parking Office Closed | October 26

The Parking and Transit Services office will be closed Wednesday, 10/26/22, from 12 P.M.-1 P.M. to allow our staff to attend the Faculty Staff Picnic on Dodge Campus.

Fall Break | October 17 & 18

No permits are required to park on campus during fall break on Monday, 10/17/22 and Tuesday, 10/18/22 as open-parking is observed. This excludes pay-to-park locations (Lots A, C and seven (7) designated spaces in M) for time limit only, ADA spaces (without a ADA permit), reserved spaces, loading zones, motorcycle areas, carpool spaces, compact stalls, visitor spaces, EV charging spaces, driveways and fire lanes. Exception areas are enforced 24/7.

Shuttles will run limited schedules from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M.

Shuttle Service Updates | Starts October 3

Beginning Monday, 10/3/22, shuttle service will be modified to better serve high demand areas. There are no changes to the routes, just reallocation of service based on data collection and passenger feedback since August 22, including adding a second shuttle to the Blue Route Service. Detailed information can be found on 10/3/22 at Shuttles Services.

EV Charging Rate Increase | Starts October 3

Due to costs associated with operating the eight (8) EV charging stations on campus, the rates for using the station will increase to offset losses. This is an effort to keep the EV changing stations working and able to provide charging service.

Beginning Monday, 10/3/22, the rate for charging will be $2 for the first three (3) hours, with a three (3) hour minimum. Data shows vehicles are usually fully charged in 2-3 hours. After three hours, the rate will escalate to $4 per hour.

The expectation is that vehicles will be charged within 2-3 hours and move to their normal permitted space, allowing different users the chance to charge their vehicle.

Parking Office Closed for Labor Day | September 5

The Parking and Transit Office will be closed on Monday, 9/5/22, in observance of Labor Day, and open-parking will be effective for all lots and garages. The office will reopen Tuesday, 9/6/22, with regular hours, and regular enforcement will begin at 7 A.M.

Limited Permit Availability | Updated August 29

Permit sales for the East and West Parking Garages are limited for both Student Commuter and Faculty/Staff permits to help maintain adequate parking in the structures. As we reach limits on a permit, it will no longer be on sale and we will update Twitter, Facebook, and this website. We will continue to monitor the permit levels, and once availability opens up, we will announce that the permits are available again on Twitter, Facebook, and this website.

8/29/22 - All limited permits except faculty/staff East Parking Garage have reached their limits and are no longer on sale.

Regular Permit Enforcement | Starts August 22

Beginning Monday, 8/22/22, regular enforcement goes into effect. See the Parking Enforcement Schedule for days when permits are required, and when not required, commonly referred to as “open-parking”. Also review the Parking Lot and Road Status to see which lots, garages, or roads are impacted by closures. Permits may be purchased online at MavPark.

During the first week of classes we issued approximately 400 For Your Parking Information warnings to help educate and inform people parking on campus, rather than issue citations. Beginning Monday, 8/29/22, we will begin issuing citations with fees. Please contact us at unoparking@unomaha.edu if you have questions about why you received a citation.

Restrictions apply 24/7 to excluded areas: Reserved, ADA, motorcycle, visitor, carpool, electric vehicle charging spaces, pay-to-park timed lots (Lots A, C and the seven (7) designated stalls in Lot M), drive aisles and fire lanes.

New Shuttle Provider, Fall Schedule, Routes | Starts August 15

Beginning Monday, 8/15/22, shuttle service will ramp up to full-service with our new shuttle provider, Arrow Stage Lines. Double check your routes, as routes and colors have been changed. Detailed information can be found at Shuttles Services.
