Emergency Evacuation
Emergency Evacuation and Identified Rally Points
In the event of a fire or other emergency evacuation, individuals who need assistance should go to the designated assembly points listed in the link below. Emergency personnel will assist with safe evacuation from these identified stairwells and rally points. Do not use elevators.
Transportation
Parking
Accessible parking stalls are available throughout campus. To use these stalls, both a campus parking permit and a DMV-issued disabled parking placard are required. Questions about parking on campus should be directed to UNO Parking Services at 402-554-7275.
For new and prospective students who have appointments with the Accessibility Services Center, there are two reserved parking stalls in the HK garage. Please contact ASC for instructions on how to utilize these stalls without being ticketed.
Campus Shuttle
The entire fleet of UNO shuttle buses on campus is accessible and can accommodate a wheelchair or other mobility device. No reservations are needed to use the campus shuttles.
The ASC also supports specific shuttle access routes for students who qualify. To learn more about the ASC shuttle, or to schedule a ride, please email unoaccessibility@unomaha.edu.
As a reminder, all UNO students, faculty, and staff can ride the Omaha city bus (including ORBT) for free using their MavCard as their bus pass.
Campus Access
Sign Language Interpretation
The ASC supports access to reasonable and appropriate accommodations, which in certain instances includes qualified interpreting services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (HoH) individuals. This access extends to programs or activities conducted and sponsored by UNO on campus or across the state.
Please email Stephanie Vik svik@unomaha.edu with questions about interpreting services or to request an interpreter for a UNO-sponsored event.
Service Animals
A service animal is a dog (and in some cases, a miniature horse) that is specifically trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability.
Assistance animals, sometimes referred to as ESAs or emotional support animals, are not service animals.
