Service learning is an experiential method of teaching. Collaborative partnerships between faculty, students, and community organizations create projects that are tightly linked to course content and promote academic learning while meeting the needs of the community.
Courses with a Service Learning component are found in all colleges at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO) and multiple programs within the University.
UNO's Service Learning Academy attempts to gather and document all service learning courses and projects that take place at UNO. Below are examples of projects that have taken place in UNO courses and give students the opportunity to deepen academic learning, provide real-life experiences, and build relationships that continue throughout a lifetime.
