The following are important updates to financial aid disbursements. Remember: It's not too late to fill out your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)!

Disbursement Updates

Beginning with the Fall 2024 semester, most financial aid (grants, loans, and scholarships) will be disbursed to students' accounts AFTER the last day to drop a class and receive a 100% refund. Aid will start disbursing on or after Wednesday, September 4th depending on any holds or reviews that need to be done. Keep in mind that funds will not disburse until all holds and To-Do List items have been removed or completed from your account.

Important Dates

Fall 2024 Semester

  • Fall Billing Statement Generated*: Aug. 30, 2024
  • Last Day to Drop a Course and Receive a 100% Refund: Sept. 3, 2024
  • Disbursements of Financial Aid Funds Begins: Sept. 4, 2024
  • Payment Due Date: Sept. 23, 2024

Spring 2025 Semester

  • Last Day to Drop a Course and Receive a 100% Refund: Jan. 28, 2025
  • Disbursements of Financial Aid Funds Begins: Jan. 30, 2025
  • Payment Due Date: Feb. 23, 2025

*Please note the first fall billing statement will generate PRIOR to financial aid posting to your student account balance. Please monitor your account balance on MavLINK after aid disburses to determine the amount you are responsible for paying. Students that sign up for the Maverick Payment Plan prior to financial aid disbursing, will have the remaining payments adjusted accordingly. The deadline to sign up for the Maverick Payment Plan is Sept. 23, 2024.

Financial Aid Refunds

Refunds of excess financial aid will also be processed AFTER the 100% refund date. From the date financial aid is applied to your student account, it generally takes 7-10 business days for you to receive your refund payment by mail and 5-7 business days by direct deposit. Enroll in direct deposit via MavLINK.

Previously, most financial aid was disbursed, and refunds were made prior to the start of the semester. This change will result in disbursements and refunds being made later than in previous semesters.

If you rely on a financial aid refund to pay for housing and other expenses, we encourage you to plan ahead and budget wisely.
