The cohort of at graduation.

Graduates who attended the ceremony.

The Chancellor’s Leadership Academy at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) is proud to announce that its second cohort of 14 emerging campus leaders has successfully completed the 18-month professional development program. The cohort was recognized during a graduation ceremony held on Jan. 20.

Designed to prepare leaders from across the university for expanded roles in a dynamic higher education environment, the academy engages participants in monthly sessions featuring expert speakers, facilitated discussions, practical case studies, and opportunities to deepen understanding of complex institutional topics. Through this immersive experience, participants strengthen their leadership capacity, foster cross-unit collaboration, and broaden their strategic impact at UNO.

Participating leaders represented a broad cross-section of university departments, and we congratulate the following graduates of the second cohort:

  • Jonathan Acosta, Director, Academic Advising
  • Christine Billings, Director, Division of Continuing Studies
  • Amanda Buker, Director, Sponsored Programs
  • Marlina Davidson, Director, Instructional Design
  • Anthony Flott, Executive Director, UNO Alumni Association
  • Eric Hinsdale, Client Services Manager, IT Services
  • Jason Jones, Associate Director, Office of Engagement
  • Angie Kennedy, Director, Integrated Marketing and Creative Strategy, Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications
  • Denise Kjeldgaard, Director, Auxiliary Services
  • Katie Martikainen, Director, Alumni Engagement
  • Lucy Morrison, Director, UNO Honors Program and Professor of English
  • Taryn Ninemire, Executive Associate Athletic Director
  • Dana Richter-Egger, Director, Math-Science Learning Center and Leadership Faculty Fellow, Academic Affairs
  • Sierra Roseby, Director of Involvement, Student Leadership and Involvement

We also extend our appreciation to the academy’s facilitators: Julie Dierberger, Chief Engagement Officer, and Jaci Lindburg, Associate Vice Chancellor for Innovative and Learning-Centric Initiatives — whose leadership and guidance were instrumental in the cohort’s success.

Please join us in celebrating these outstanding Mavericks whose commitment to growth and service reflects UNO’s dedication to leadership excellence.
