Student Learning Outcomes
Student Learning Outcomes ask the question “What should students know or be able to do when they complete the program?” Or, "What are the defining characteristics of the degree program in terms of the knowledge, skills, or dispositions expected of a graduate?"
The student learning outcomes for the Bachelor of Science in Biomechanics are as follows:
- Students will demonstrate and apply fundamental and advanced knowledge of biomechanics and related STEM fields.
- Students will demonstrate competency in written and oral communication skills by synthesizing research and presenting data.
- Students will synthesize interdisciplinary content knowledge and demonstrate effective laboratory and communication skills during development and defense of final capstone project proposal.
- Students will apply content knowledge and laboratory skills to plan, design, create, and test a relevant tool (e.g., device, software, methodology) related to biomechanics.
Data is collected in core coursework annually and evaluated by the Department. The results are used to assess the program and make any necessary improvements.
