UNO has many options to help offset the cost of your education. Start here by learning about the different types of aid.

Explore how grants, scholarships, work aid, federal loans, alternative loans, graduate assistantships, and graduate scholarships and fellowships can help make your education more affordable.

Grants

Gift assistance awarded to qualified undergraduate students demonstrating exceptional financial need. No repayment required.

Scholarships

Gift assistance available for undergraduate students and awarded on the basis of merit and/or need. No repayment required.

Federal Work-Study (FWS)

Employment opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need. No repayment required.

Federal Loans

Funds provided to undergraduate and graduate students for educational expenses. Repayment required.

Alternative Loans

Funds provided to undergraduate and graduate students for educational expenses. Repayment required.

Graduate Assistantships

Competitively awarded by academic programs. Recipients receive tuition remission and a stipend (salary) to work approximately 20 hours/week.

Graduate Scholarships and Fellowships

Gift assistance available for graduate students and awarded on the basis of merit and/or need. No repayment required.
