Welcome to Group Fitness! 

Group Fitness classes are a component of Campus Recreation and Wellness. This program is for people looking for motivation, community, and fun workouts. Students, faculty, and staff members may participate. All fitness classes emphasize the provision of safe and effective exercise and are led by certified and well-trained fitness instructors.

All fitness levels and abilities are welcome to join classes.

Fall 2025 Updates

  1. Group Fitness classes are FREE for all members!
  2. Classes for Fall 2025 run from August 25 through December 12. Schedule changes may occur to accomodate breaks and finals week.
  3. Registration for each class is required. You can register up to 10 days ahead of the class date and time. Register here.
  4. If you would like to schedule a private class for a student organization, other group or department please email michellegeist@nebraska.edu to schedule.

Registering for a Class

  1. Go to Shopwellness
    • Click Sign in and use NetID and password
  1. From the home screen click “Group Fitness Class Registration”

  2. Select a class you want to attend.
    • Classes open ten (10) days in advance

Frequently Asked Questions About Group Fitness

Does it cost extra to attend Group Fitness Classes?

No...they are free for all members!

Do I need to register for classes?

Yes. Go to Shopwellness to register for classes. You can also cancel after registering if your plans change.

Do I need to have experience in order to attend Group Fitness Classes?

No, all levels are welcome! If you feel comfortable, sharing with the instructor that it's your first time as it will help them guide you better throughout class.

Are Group Fitness classes for people that are already in shape?

The classes are for everyone. Our instructors are certified and ready to provide everyone with a great experience. They are trained to modify exercises and movements to make them easier or more challenging.
