About Jennifer

With strong roots in the Omaha area, Jennifer has dedicated her career to supporting children and families.  She attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and Omaha, earning her B.S. in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology in 2003.  She continued her education, earning an M.S. Ed. in Professional School Counseling in 2017 from Buena Vista University.  Jennifer's professional experience includes working with children and families and community partnerships through her experience in juvenile court and child and family services, sexual assault and domestic violence advocacy, and secondary school counseling.  In 2026, Jennifer returned to her alma mater, the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), as a counselor and advisor for the Project Achieve Program. She brings extensive experience in education, counseling, advocacy, and family services to the UNO community.

Jennifer's view on TRIO Project Achieve

Jennifer views TRIO SSS Project Achieve as a meaningful opportunity to walk alongside students as they navigate their educational journey. Through her experience, she has seen firsthand the difference that encouragement, support, and having someone believe in you can make. She believes Project Achieve provides students with not only the resources they need to overcome barriers, but also a safe and supportive environment where they can discover their strengths, build resilience, and develop a stronger sense of self. Jennifer is passionate about getting to know each student as an individual, celebrating their growth, and helping them recognize that challenges do not define them. Her goal is to help students feel supported, empowered, and capable as they work toward their goals and achieve success in their education and beyond.
