Lori has been with International Advising at UNO since 1988. She graduated with an undergraduate degree from UNO in International Studies and Spanish. While a student, she received the Nene Field Ambassador Program's Outbound Ambassador award to travel to Bolivia and Peru. Also, she was the first recipient of the Japanese Ministry of Education and Culture's Monbusho Scholarship to attend UNO's sister university in Shizuoka, Japan, to study Japanese language and culture. After her undergraduate education, Lori served in Costa Rica with the U.S. Peace Corps in community development. After joining UNO in 1988, she completed her master's degree in counseling with a concentration in higher education student affairs. She has worked with thousands of students from around the globe and has traveled to Colombia, Costa Rica, Japan, and Venezuela to recruit students. Lori also serves on the Board of Directors for the Omaha Sister Cities Association (OSCA).
