Volunteer Opportunities

New Cassel Retirement Center is looking for volunteers for the following two upcoming events. Several shifts are available for the July 1st event. I've listed the number of volunteers needed for each shift/task below.

If you are interested in volunteering for either event, please let me know at your earliest convenience. Also, if you would like to volunteer with friends/family for any of the following, let me know and I will group you together. Please also feel free to share with others who might be interested in volunteering for these events.

June:

Friday, June 19th at 5pm-7pm - Father's Day Fiesta with Mariachi Band (outside in South Parking Lot & Front Porch) - (At least 4 volunteers)

    • Help serve drinks/food
    • Visit with residents
    • Help with set up and tear down (30 minutes before and after event)

July:

Wednesday, July 1st - Independence Day Celebration - (Large event with various opportunities throughout the day) - Many volunteers are needed for this large event.

    • 8 am - 4 pm: Help with Preparation and Set-up (4-6 volunteers)
      • Any hours available throughout the workday

    • 4:30 pm - 8:30 pm: Shuttle Drop-off Area & Canned Food Drive for Veterans Pantry (2-4 volunteers)
      • Welcoming guests as they arrive
      • Provide mobility and accessibility assistance as needed
      • Collect canned food and/or cash donations
      • Move Food Drive items inside at end of shift

    • 5 pm -7:30 pm: Bounce House (2-4 volunteers)
      • Set up pads
      • Monitor (no shoes, no food, safety and security)
    • 5 pm - 8 pm: Foam Machine (2-4 volunteers)
      • Set up (pads, supplies, mix foam)
      • Monitor (safety, security)
    • 5:30 pm - 8 pm: Giveaways (4-6 volunteers)
      • Hand out beads, visors, fans, etc.
      • Visiting with guests, residents, families, and vendors
    • 5 pm - 8:30 pm: Cornhole (2 volunteers)
      • Set-up & play with guests
    • 5 pm - 8:30 pm: Connect Four (2 volunteers)
      • Set-up & play with guests
    • 5 pm - 8 pm: Raffles (2 volunteers)
      • Off raffle tickets
      • Visit with guests & residents
    • 5 pm - 8 pm: Sucker Pull (1 volunteer)
      • Set-up
      • Interact with children
      • Re-stock as needed
      • Hand out prizes

    • 8:30 pm - 9:00 pm: Tear down #1 (before fireworks) (6 or more volunteers)
      • Take down canopies before fireworks

    • 8:30 pm - 10:30 pm: Shuttle Pick-up Area (2-4 volunteers)
      • Assist guests as they leave on shuttle
      • Provide mobility and accessibility assistance as needed

    • 9:30pm - ?: Tear down #2 (after fireworks) (6 or more volunteers)
      • Put chairs away
      • Stack tables
      • Take down all signage
      • Take down flags
      • Take down walk-way to parking
