Department of Psychology Scholarships

The College of Arts and Sciences and our generous donors are proud to help you achieve your goals through various forms of financial support. With this support, the Department of Psychology awards several scholarships to undergraduate students majoring in psychology at UNO.

Frank Bellinghiere Memorial Academic Excellence Scholarship

This $500 scholarship is awarded to an individual who has demonstrated academic excellence and also has financial need.

Requirements

  • Psychology major
  • At least sophomore standing in fall semester of the application period
  • Personal statement describing financial situation and sources of financial support
  • Resume describing academic achievements in research, teaching, and/or service
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

Mary E. Flannigan Memorial Service Scholarship

This $500 scholarship is awarded to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding service.

Requirements

  • Psychology major
  • At least sophomore standing in fall semester of the application period
  • Personal statement describing volunteer service activities for the university, community, and profession of psychology while attending UNO
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

Barbara Manning Memorial Scholarship

This $3,000 scholarship is awarded to an individual who demonstrates an interest in pursuing a future career where psychology ideas are applied.

Requirements

  • Psychology major
  • Junior or senior standing in fall semester of application period
  • Personal statement outlining reasons for pursuing a psychology major
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

Robbins Family Psychology Scholarship

This $4,000 scholarship is awarded to an individual who has an interest in a mental health or counseling related future career. The $4,000 total is awarded over the course of two years; $2,000 for the junior year and $2,000 for the senior year.

Requirements

  • Full-time psychology major
  • Junior standing in the fall semester of the application period; senior standing in the fall semester of the following year
  • Personal statement describing future plans in the field of mental health or counseling
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5

Stephen R. Paige Memorial Research Scholarship

This $500 scholarship is awarded to an individual who has excelled in research endeavors and presentations within the field of psychology.

Requirements

  • Psychology major
  • At least sophomore standing in fall semester of the application period
  • Resume describing research endeavors in the field of psychology
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

Applying for Psychology Scholarships

To access the scholarship applications:

  1. Log in to MavLINK.
  2. Under the Financial Aid tab, click Financial Aid Home.
  3. Scroll down and click Apply for Scholarships. You will be directed to the UNO Scholarships portal.

To complete your application:

  1. Complete and submit the General Application Questions for university-wide scholarships.
  2. Complete and submit the applications for any other scholarships that are recommended to you.

Scholarships are awarded in mid-April.
