Biography

Dr. Erin Miles is an Associate Professor of Strategy Management in the College of Business Administration at UNO. Dr. Erin Miles’ areas of expertise include strategic management and entrepreneurship with specific interest garnered toward how institutional or environmental factors influence firm strategy. Working in the financial and banking industry, Dr. Erin Miles experienced first-hand how the external environments influenced trade activity and fund strategy, which motivated her to seek further understanding of these relationships. She teaches undergraduate and graduate classes in strategic management, has taught in the Executive Education program at UNO, and served as a faculty advisor for EMBA International & Domestic Capstone projects. Dr. Erin Miles is also the director of the award-winning Capstone Cup. She has strategic management consulting experience for several local non-profit and start-up organizations, and has consulted for organizations in the transportation, retail, and defense industries. Dr. Erin Miles is a member of the Academy of Management and the Strategic Management Society. Dr. Miles currently serves on the Editorial Boards for the Journal of Entrepreneurship and Ethics, and the North American Case Research Association board.
