Biography

Candice Batton, Ph.D., is Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. She assists with advancing and supporting key initiatives for Academic Affairs and is also currently charged with administrative oversight of the Criss Library. Batton is also responsible for faculty affairs on the campus and strives to foster a welcoming environment that engenders excellence in all aspects of faculty work, supports faculty development and advancement across career stages, and recognizes the contributions of faculty to students, the university, and their disciplines. Batton’s faculty appointment is in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice, where she is an Associate Professor and served as School Director for eight years before joining Academic Affairs in 2015.
