Candice Batton, PhD, is Assistant Vice Chancellor for Faculty Affairs and is charged with fostering a welcoming, inclusive and equitable environment that engenders excellence in all aspects of faculty work, supports development and advancement across career stages, and recognizes the contributions of faculty to students, the university, and their disciplines. Batton is responsible for a variety of faculty-related areas including searches and recruitment, evaluation and advancement, honors and awards, faculty life and retention, and faculty support and professional development, including executive leadership over the Center for Faculty Excellence. Additionally, as AVC for Faculty Affairs, Batton has administrative oversight of the faculty contract, collective bargaining, and faculty grievances. Batton’s faculty appointment is in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice, where she is an Associate Professor and served as School Director for eight years before joining Academic Affairs.
