  • Teaches English Composition II and supports students in writing from all disciplines. Including personal statements
  • Assists students with academic, financial aid, and other issues

About Brigid

Brigid Johnson earned a BA in History and Classical Languages at the University of Iowa and an MA in Classical Studies from Tufts University. She had plans to go for a Ph.D. but became a mother and teacher instead.

During undergraduate and graduate studies, Brigid studied abroad in four countries (The Netherlands, Germany, Italy, and Greece), including a summer program with the American Academy in Rome.

Outside of UNO, Brigid tutors middle and high school students in Latin and other areas of classical studies. She loves her family, her two cats, and riding and racing bikes (road and MTB).

Prior to Project Achieve, Brigid had served UNO as a consultant in the Writing Center and an adjunct instructor for English. She loves to learn from others and share her knowledge.

Brigid’s View on TRIO Project Achieve

Brigid has seen the difference TRIO has made for numerous students and is excited to be a part of the program. She wants to help the future generations succeed, in and outside of the classroom.
