No. The general education curriculum is the same for all students regardless of their major.
Course equivalencies have been established with many institutions throughout the state and country. Your academic advisor can assist you in determining how your transfer credits will articulate with the UNO general education curriculum.

Under "class search," click on "Additional Search Criteria." This will populate a list of search filters including "Course Attribute." This filter has a pull-down menu that will allow you to search by general education area.
Students are considered proficient in meeting their general education Quantitative Literacy requirement if they have an ACT MATH score of 23 or higher or an SAT MATH score of 540 or higher or SAT2016 of 570 or higher. Placement exams are given for English composition courses. There are no test-out procedures for distribution requirements.
In some instances, dual enrollment courses and qualifying scores on Advanced Placement (AP) exams can result in credit toward general education requirements. Consult with your academic advisor to determine how/if these courses will be counted.
