The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) celebrated the remarkable achievements of 11 distinguished alumni at the UNO Alumni Honors Brunch on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at the Thompson Alumni Center. This annual celebration, presented by the UNO Alumni Association and Omaha Athletics, highlights outstanding alumni who have made significant contributions in their fields and to the university community. Two notable honorees from the College of Public Affairs and Community Service (CPACS) stood out this year: Jared Hall and Zach Miller.

Young Alumni Achievement Award: Jared Hall

Jared Hall, a 2020 graduate of UNO’s multidisciplinary studies program, has quickly established himself as a trailblazing entrepreneur and fashion innovator. Hall is the creative force behind 3am Luxury, a high-end handbag and leather accessories brand known for its distinct designs and impeccable craftsmanship. Since launching his e-commerce business in 2021, Hall’s creations have graced runways from Kansas City to Los Angeles, earning him international acclaim.

In just a few short years, Hall’s vision has taken 3am Luxury global, with showcases in Dubai, Monte Carlo, and Paris. His designs have caught the eye of top fashion publications, including Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, and Los Angeles Forbes. His brand’s presence now extends to flagship stores in Omaha, Dubai, and Paris, solidifying his position as a rising star in the fashion world. Hall’s recent partnership with Dubai’s Fashion Factor & Golden Wings highlights his commitment to elevating 3am Luxury on the international stage, making him a fitting recipient of the Young Alumni Achievement Award.

UNO Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee: Zach Miller

Zach Miller, a record-breaking former Maverick, has secured his place in UNO history with his induction into the UNO Athletic Hall of Fame. A dynamic dual-threat athlete, Miller dominated the field during his time at UNO, leaving an indelible mark on the football program. He ranks as the all-time leader in points (306) and touchdowns (51) and holds the No. 2 spot in career total offense (7,218 yards) and rushing (3,122 yards).

Miller’s exceptional performance included setting single-season records for touchdowns (19) and points (114), as well as achieving the highest completion percentage in a single game (.895). His standout achievements earned him All-North Central Conference honors and the coveted NCC Offensive MVP title in 2006. Miller was a key player in leading the Mavericks to three NCC championships and four NCAA playoff appearances, with a remarkable 33-11 combined record during his tenure.

Following his college success, Miller was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2009 NFL Draft. He enjoyed a notable NFL career, making impactful contributions with the Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Chicago Bears. Over his NFL career, Miller recorded 146 receptions for 1,631 yards and 15 touchdowns, cementing his legacy as a versatile and resilient athlete.

Celebrating CPACS Excellence

The achievements of Jared Hall and Zach Miller exemplify the caliber of talent cultivated at UNO’s College of Public Affairs and Community Service. Their success stories reflect the university’s commitment to fostering innovation, leadership, and a spirit of community service. As Hall and Miller join the ranks of celebrated alumni, their stories inspire current students and demonstrate the transformative power of a UNO education.

Congratulations to Jared Hall and Zach Miller for their well-deserved recognition at the 2024 UNO Alumni Honors Brunch. Their accomplishments shine as a testament to the strength of the Maverick community and the impact of UNO alumni around the world.
