Ellen Rice

As of August 1, 2021, Ellen Rice was appointed as the permanent Assistant Director of the Grace Abbott School of School Work (GASSW).

Ellen Rice began as an Academic Advisor at UNO in 2010 when she helped infuse professional advising at the GASSW. Her contributions to recruiting students, organizing student orientations, on scheduling classes, partnership with staff, faculty, and adjuncts, as well as her skills to navigate challenging accreditation have demonstrated her competence and her dedication to the School of Social Work.

Interim Director and Professor of the GASSW, Dr. Henry D’Souza, shares, “I am delighted to announce and congratulate Ellen Rice on her appointment as the permanent Assistant Director of the Grace Abbott School of Social Work. Dean Bartle and I are supportive of an inclusive leadership structure that represents faculty and staff. This partnership puts our School in the best position to understand and advocate for the needs of our students, faculty, and staff.”

Please join us in thanking Ellen for accepting this position and extending her a warm welcome to this new role. We wish her much success and happiness!
