Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Hello! I am very familiar with the School of the Arts as I graduated from UNO in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in Art History and two minors in Ancient Mediterranean Studies and Medieval & Renaissance Studies. From there, I attended Trinity College Dublin and earned my Master of Philosophy in Irish Art History. I love art and have a passion for learning!

I love drinking coffee, talking about Taylor Swift, and being a hype-man for all my favorite Irish artists. My favorite pastimes include thrifting/antiquing and talking to anyone who will listen.

What made you want to be an academic advisor, and what do you like most about it?

Ever since I was little, I wanted to work in education. I love helping students find subjects and classes that they are passionate about, as well as staying on track for completing their degrees in a timely manner. Let’s make UNO work for you!

What’s one thing you’d like every student to know?

My door is always open! I am here to help you, even with the smallest, silliest question. Don’t hesitate to reach out or stop by my office!

What are some of your favorites - authors, art, movies, etc?

Some of my favorite things include: William Orpen, Helen Frankenthaler, printmaking, Jack B Yeats, Lloyd Alexander, Jojo Moyes, Neil Gaiman, British historical dramas, and Star Wars.

Any last words of wisdom?

It is always a good idea to email me before the first week of classes. I want you to get into the classes that you want to take!

Call Madison at 402.554.3266 or email her at madisonbowman@unomaha.edu for quick questions. To make an advising appointment, UNO students should set up a time (in-person or remote) through MavCONNECT.

Her office is located on the third floor of the Weber Fine Arts Building, in WFAB 314. Swing by and say hi!
