How UNO Accepts Transfer Credit

  • Credit is only accepted from regionally accredited two- and four-year colleges or universities and must be submitted on an official transcript.

  • A grade of C- or higher must be earned in a course for it to be accepted for transfer. Additional grades applicable for transfer include CR (Credit), S (Satisfactory), and P (Pass). Some UNO colleges may require higher grades for transfer, refer to your program for more information.

  • A maximum of 64 semester hours can be transferred to UNO from a two-year institution.

  • All credit hours transferable are converted to semester credit hours.

  • Grades earned at other institutions do not become a part of your UNO cumulative GPA unless earned at another University of Nebraska campus:
    • University of Nebraska Lincoln (UNL)
    • University of Nebraska Kearney (UNK)
    • University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC)
  • Final determination of transfer credit and how it applies to your area of study will be decided by an academic advisor in your program.

  • Students wishing to transfer credits from recognized institutions outside the United States may need to provide a course syllabus and catalog for evaluation of credits.
