New Student Launch

Designed for admitted students and their families, New Student Launch events help you feel confident and ready for your first semester. Sessions are offered throughout the summer, with afternoon and evening options to fit your schedule.

When: August 11th and August 17th

  • Check off to-do list items
  • Connect with campus resources and offices
  • Get your MavCARD (if you've enrolled in classes!)
  • Talk with housing
  • Meet with student orgs
  • Learn about jobs on campus

New Mav Week

Calm those new school nerves! Before classes begin, kick off your UNO experience with New Mav Week. Designed exclusively for our newest incoming Mavericks, this week is packed with opportunities to meet other students, explore campus, and get comfortable before the semester begins.

When: August 17-21st

  • Attend a welcome event hosted by your college
  • Take a Class Schedule Tour to find your way around before your first day
  • Connect with other Mavericks and get a feel for the UNO community
  • Enjoy a family picnic in Elmwood Park
  • Expect fun activities, free food, games, and more across campus
