Criss Library’s Archives and Special Collections has been awarded a $10,000 grant from Humanities Nebraska to help fund the traveling exhibit Pride and Joy: Nebraska LGBTQIA2S+ History. Through the display of primary sources, visitors will explore the history of individuals, groups, and historical events from Nebraska’s LGBTQIA2S+ communities.

Criss Library archivists will curate the traveling exhibit with research contributions by a UNO student employee, whose employment is made possible with support from the grant. The research and material featured in the traveling exhibit will draw from the Queer Omaha Archives and other Nebraska cultural heritage repositories.

Pride and Joy will debut in summer 2025 along with a public program. The exhibit will then be hosted at locations across the state. Contact Archives and Special Collections to inquire about hosting the traveling exhibit at your community or at your event in 2025-2026.

Pride and Joy is funded in part by a grant from Humanities Nebraska.
