  3. Graduate Program

The ISQA department offers several graduate programs in Management Information System (MIS) that serve as a source of added knowledge and experience for MIS graduates and practitioners interested in obtaining an advanced degree.

It will also provide career growth opportunities for the non-MIS and non-business degree holders who find that their careers demand graduate level MIS education.

Masters in Management Information Systems

The Master of Science in Management Information Systems (MS in MIS) degree is designed to give students the skills and background needed to develop and manage an organization's information resources, technology, and infrastructure.

The MS in MIS prepares students for a variety of positions, including:

  • Applications and website developer
  • Data management professional
  • Business system analyst/manager
  • Consultant
  • Technology manager

The MS in MIS also prepares students for admission to doctoral programs in Information Systems. For more information: MS Management Information Systems

Graduate Certificates

The goal of the ISQA graduate certificate programs is to allow post-baccalaureate students and working professionals to expand their educational background in specific areas and complete work that could count towards a graduate degree.

Earning the graduate certificates will:

  • Enhance skill sets
  • Provide exposure to new information technologies, theories, and practices
  • Allow individuals to work towards various professional certifications
  • Increase growth potential with employers
  • Increase prospects of obtaining a graduate degree

For more information: Graduate Certificates

Dual Degrees

In today's globally integrated and interdependent business world, ubiquitous information technologies, and mobile workforce, it is critical that graduate education provides students opportunities to develop integrated business and technology skills.

The primary purpose of dual degree programs is to provide this integration by enabling students to complete the MS in MIS degree and degrees in either business (MBA) or public administration (MPA) simultaneously.

For more information: Dual Degree MS MIS & MBA and Dual Degree MS MIS & MPA

Integrated Undergraduate/Graduate

The primary purpose of UNO's College of IS&T's integrated undergraduate/graduate (IUG) track in MIS is to provide outstanding undergraduate students in the College of IS&T an option to complete the BS undergraduate degree in MIS and the MS graduate degree MIS in five years (147 total hours).
