Internships are essential for students in the information technology field as they provide real-world experience, bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry application. We want you to secure not only a summer internship but a year-long internship that will help you enhance your skills, build professional networks, gain critical skills, ensuring a successful career in the dynamic technology field.


The College of IS&T encourages its students to apply for credit internships with local businesses. The internship must meet specific criteria to qualify for academic credit. Please contact your department chair if interested:

Criteria for an Internship

  1. Relates to some facets of the information technology field.
  2. Involves a learning and/or instructional component as part of the assignment.
  3. Benefits both the individual and the business.
  4. Minimum of 10 hours per week.
