The Eighth Annual Creative Writing Contest in Spanish

A Spanish language writing contest open to all students grades 5-12 in the state of Nebraska/ Un concurso de escritura creativa en espaƱol abierto para todos los estudiantes de Nebraska en los cursos 5 a 12.

Sponsored by the Department of Foreign Languages, Masters of Arts in Language Teaching (MALT) Program, Office of Latino/Latin American Studies (OLLAS) and College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO).

Latinos and Latin American immigrants make up about 10% of the Nebraska population.

Their language, as well as their contributions to urban and rural communities, can be found everywhere. The Department of Foreign Languages and the Office of Latino/Latin American Studies at the University of Nebraska Omaha have launched the 7th Annual Creative Writing Contest in Spanish to celebrate the Spanish language and encourage its creative use among heritage and bilingual speakers, and speakers of Spanish as a second language.
