The College of Arts and Sciences - UNO's Cornerstone
Inspiring students and improving lives since 1908
As UNO's oldest college, we've been helping students like you find and pursue their passions for over 100 years. Many of those students have gone on to do amazing things. History major, Chuck Hagel (History, 1971), former Secretary of Defense for the United States. Physics major, Penny Sackett (Physics, 1978), discovered a planet and is former director of the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the Australian National University, as well as the former Chief Scientist of Australia.
Of course all of these intriguing majors need a faculty, and ours is second to none. Our faculty are as passionate about their disciplines as you are about learning them. They are teachers, researchers and leaders who are here to guide you down the path you choose and to help you find success as you define it.
So have a look around our site. Come and visit our storied halls. Allow yourself to be swept up in a century's worth of ideas, research, discussions and reflection. You'll be glad you did.
