Transfer Applicants

  2. Academic Affairs
  3. University Honors Program
  4. Admissions
  5. Transfer Applicants

Transfer applicants who have earned 50 or more college credits are encouraged to apply to the Honors Program.

Requirements for Transfer Applicants

Applicants are required to have a GPA of 3.5 or higher at the time of application. Transfer students should review the Honors curriculum (below) and ensure they have room for required Honors courses before applying. Such transfer students then need to arrange for a faculty-authored letter of support or email to be sent to unohonors@unomaha.edu. The letter or email should describe the student's academic achievement and potential and should discuss the student's likelihood for success in our Honors community here at UNO. Students transferring from another institution's Honors Program should email UNO's Honors Director to discuss transferring Honors credits into UNO's Honors Program.

View the Honors curriculum.

Honors courses may carry general education or major requirements credit; all Honors courses completed successfully carry credit toward degree completion.

Once a letter or email is received, Honors staff will reach out via email directly to a potential applicant to arrange a meeting to discuss pathways for becoming a member of our Honors community.
