Requirements for On-Campus Applicants

On-campus applicants should have a UNO GPA of 3.5 or higher at the time at which they apply to the Program; we welcome hearing from UNO students who missed us in their first year or so on campus! Students who have already earned 50 credit hours need to review the requirements (below) and be sure they can fit in required classes in their ongoing course of study as they make good progress toward degree.

Having confirmed their desire to be a part of our community, and having made sure they know what the requirements of the program are, UNO students should arrange for a UNO faculty member to submit a letter (as a PDF or Word attachment) in support of their application to unohonors@unomaha.edu. That letter should speak to the student's academic abilities and potential to be successful in Honors here at UNO.

honors curriculum 15 hours

Prospective on-campus applicants may be able to undertake Honors courses that will satisfy general education or major requirements; Honors courses carry credit toward degree completion, and there is NO extra cost!

Upon receipt of a letter of recommendation, Honors staff will reach out directly to a potential applicant to discuss pathways to becoming a member of our Honors community accordingly.
