Faculty/Staff
A person who works at UNO with a faculty/staff appointment on a full time, part-time, temporary, or on-call basis,
as long as this is the primary purpose on campus. After hours parking in commuter parking lots/structures is
prohibited and subject to citation unless authorized.
Student
Anyone, other than a faculty/staff as defined above, who is registered at or attends the University on either a
part-time or full-time basis during the school year. Both Residents and Commuter Students are defined as a student.

Vendor/Contractor
A company or person providing goods or service to UNO. Vendor permits are not to be used by Faculty, Staff or Students.
Visitor
Visitors are persons other than students, faculty/staff, and vendor/contractors who occasionally visit UNO for scholarly
work, pleasure, conferences or business.
Volunteer
Volunteers are unpaid workers that are supervised by a department within the University and provide a service
to the University.
Parked Vehicle
Any vehicle without a driver present and/or unattended is considered a parked vehicle.
Reserved Parking
A stall, multiple stalls and/or lot reserved for specific persons, departments or vehicles. No other vehicle is
allowed to be parked in these areas.
Non-reserved Parking
A stall and/or lot based on availability. Does not guarantee a permit holder a parking stall.
Valid Parking Permit
A valid parking permit is a hang tags issued only by UNO Parking Services.
Designated Parking Stall
A designated parking stall is a location that is designated for parking. This can be in a parking garage or in a parking
lot. It is usually designated by a white-paint-on-tar rectangle. The automobile fits inside the space, either
by parallel parking, perpendicular parking or angle parking.
