Maverick Daily and Bullseye

  2. Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications
  3. Digital and Social
  4. Maverick Daily and Bullseye

The Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications (MarComm) is responsible for the creation of the Maverick Daily and The Bullseye. Both are available on the UNO website and sent via email on a daily and weekly basis.

About the Maverick Daily and the Bullseye

The Maverick Daily is a daily online publication for faculty, staff, and administration sent every working day (except holidays) Monday through Friday, that is dedicated to providing relevant news, event details, and information about the UNO campus and community.

The Bullseye is an online publication for students that is dedicated to providing news highlights, event details, and information about the UNO campus and community. It is sent once each week on Sunday.

Occasionally, during busy weeks and when key student-related or public events take place, a Special Edition Bullseye is sent on Wednesdays.

The content for the Maverick Daily and the Bullseye is provided by and for the UNO community.

What information can I submit?

Announcements must have a broad appeal to the campus community and must apply to all faculty, staff, and administration or to all students. Announcements must be sponsored or hosted by a registered UNO student organization, department, program, or office.

What information won't run?

  • Job candidate résumés; only senior executive positions will be posted. (i.e.: assistant vice chancellor and above)
  • Job postings
  • Off-campus events not related to UNO
  • Personal social media accounts, personal blogs, personal websites, or related media
  • Individual classes, class projects, or class surveys, excluding professional development workshops

How do I submit an item?

If you’d like your announcement to be considered in both publications, please submit a Start Your Project request. Read the submission guidelines for more information.

What are my other options for informing the campus of my announcement or event?

Promotion of your announcement or event is important to its success and we encourage using multiple ways to communicate about your event. Here are a few ways to let the campus know about your event or announcement:

  • UNO News Center
  • Digital monument signs
  • UNO official social media channels
  • UNO college/department/organization social media channels
  • College/building TV monitors
  • Fliers/posters
  • Verbal announcements at group meetings
  • Student Org software programs

Why am I not receiving the Maverick Daily?

If you are a current staff or faculty member and previously have received the Maverick Daily but no longer are receiving it, the most likely reason is because our system doesn't know that you want to receive it anymore. Our technology needs your help to know that you are opening it and like the Maverick Daily. To start receiving it again, please follow these steps in order:

  1. Find an old Maverick Daily in your email using your desktop computer and download the photos if your Outlook email client is not set to automatically do so. Then click on a few of the article links and scroll to the very bottom to click the "Manage Preferences" link. Make sure you are subscribed to the Maverick Daily.
  2. Wait until the next day that the Maverick Daily is sent out (typically every Monday through Friday unless there is a holiday or it is during J-Term or the Summer Term).
  3. If you still have not received the Maverick Daily, contact web@unomaha.edu and include the date when you last received the Maverick Daily and confirm that you have tried Steps 1 and 2.
