Trainings
The Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications (MarComm) offers several trainings to campus partners for digital tools and public relations.
Cascade CMS
Cascade is the university's content management system (CMS). Faculty and staff must receive training in Cascade before any edits can be made. The MarComm Digital Team hosts onboarding sessions over Zoom for new users to Cascade. In these sessions, we go over basic tasks in Cascade like editing, publishing, and creating pages.
Trainings are held monthly and have a maximum of 10 users per session. If you are interested in joining, please let your College Communicator or Web Lead know you will be attending, and we will work with them to set up your permissions and access.
HubSpot
HubSpot is the official program for the implementation and delivery of several digital tools:
- Email marketing
- Social media management and publishing
- Live chat implementation and management
Training is conducted twice a month by the MarComm Digital Team. Sign-up for an upcoming training session, which includes an overview of the tools and best practices.
Localist
Localist is the university's new event calendar tool. User training started at the end of May 2022, and full implementation will occur at the end of July 2022.
Sign-up for an upcoming Event User training session with the MarComm Digital Team for an overview of Localist and all of its features for event organizers and attendees and to learn about the event submission process.
Lucidpress
Design templates are created with Lucidpress, an online templating tool for campus partners developing UNO-branded posters, brochures, digital signs, and other print and digital collateral. Each piece can be exported as a PDF and emailed to authorized printers for final production or as a PNG or JPEG for use on web and digital formats.
College Communicators and other department leads have access to the tool and may grant access to additional units as appropriate. UNO has a limited number of licenses, so please reach out to your communicator or department lead to request access to your unit’s shared account.
For more information regarding Lucidpress, please contact Angie Kennedy at angiekennedy@unomaha.edu.
Media and Public Relations
The Media Relations staff will sit down with you to share best practices, identify key messages, and conduct a practice interview. More rigorous training is available for sensitive topics that pose a reputational risk.
Email unonews@unomaha.edu to request training.
