- Does my student need a car?
No. UNO is committed to sustainability and has many transportation alternatives available to students.
- Does my student need a computer and/or printer?
No. UNO's Criss Library provides students with access to computers and affordable printing options. There are also WEPA printers and computer labs in various buildings on both Dodge and Scott campus. And if your student needs a laptop or tablet after hours, they can check out technology from UNO's Information Services for up to two weeks.
- What is the best way to purchase a computer for my student?
When purchasing technology for your student, we recommend checking out the Information Services website for additional information and helpful websites for purchasing hardware and software for your student.
- How do I sign my student up for housing?
If your student is in need of on-campus housing accommodations, information on Housing and Residence Life and how to apply can be found here.
- How do I contact my student?
If you are unable to contact your student and need to get a hold of them, you can call the Student Success Hotline (402.554.4455) and someone from the university will help you get in contact with your student.
- How do I pay my student's tuition bill?
In order to pay your student's tuition, you will need to have a MavLINK guest account created for you by your student. Once your account is created, you can log on to MavLINK and click the "Make a Payment" button.
- How can I view my student's grades?
In order to view your student's grades, you will need to have a MavLINK guest account created for you by your student. Once your account is created, you can log on to MavLINK and click the "Academics" tab at the top of the screen.
- Why do I need to use a MavLINK guest account?
It is important to create a MavLINK account to access your student's information for many reasons. One of the most important reasons to create a MavLINK guest account is that it ensures that your student will not be kicked out of their session when accessing their MavLINK account.
- Where can I park when visiting my student on campus?
When visiting on campus, you can park your vehicle in the visitor parking outside of the University Village clubhouse or the Welcome Center. It is important that you stop inside of either building to ask for a visitor parking permit.
- When do I need to pay my student's tuition bill by?
It is important to pay tuition on time. The due date for tuition each semester can be found on your student's MavLINK account. Due dates can also be found on the Academic Calendar for each semester.
- If my student withdraws from a course, will they receive a refund?
The refund your student will receive depends upon how early in the semester they decide to withdraw from a course. The Academic Calendar details the different rates for refunds that are given depending on the time of the semester.
- Will I be notified if my student does something wrong?
The Conduct & Community Standards website has information regarding what information will be provided to the families of students who experience conduct issues on campus.
