This page provides information for submission of IACUC protocols, including requests for change, new protocols, and continuing review.

Electronic Submission of New IACUC Protocols

The UNO Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee uses an online protocol portal, NuRamp, which can be accessed here: nuramp.nebraska.edu

All new protocols must be submitted via RSS. If have any difficulties accessing NuRamp, please contact the IACUC office at iacuc@unomaha.edu or call 402.554.2108.

Modification Form

Investigators who require modifications to current protocols or would like to add/remove personnel must submit a Modification Form through the NuRamp portal

Three Year Continuing Review

Three Year Continuing Review must be submitted via NuRamp.

To initiate a continuing review, contact the IACUC office for duplication of your project iacuc@unomaha.edu

NOTE: Three Year Continuing Review require reporting of animal usage. Submissions that do not include animal usage will not be released for renewal until this information is provided.

Submission Deadlines

Full Committee Review (FCR): Protocols that require full committee review (New Submissions or 3-Year Continuing Reviews (CR)), must be submitted to the IACUC by the last business day of the month by 12pm CDT. The IACUC meets quarterly, however, if protocols have been submitted that need FCR the committee will meet if necessary. It is important that submission deadlines for FCR are maintained to allow sufficient processing and review prior to the convened meetings. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of the month.

Examples:

  • If you want new research to start in May 2024, a new protocol submission could be reviewed at Full Committee on April 10th, 2024, which means the new protocol should be submitted no later than March 29th, 2024.
  • If you have an active protocol that expires June 6, 2024, a 3-Year CR submission will need to be reviewed at Full Committee on May 8th, 2024, which means the 3-Year CR needs to be submitted no later than April 30th, 2024.
