Research and creative activity at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO) seeks to improve society through scholarly work. I most love working at UNO because of the people; most UNO employees express their desire to work here so they can help others — students, our community, and our society overall.
The passion for making an impact is evident in all those who interact with our ORCA team. From research that seeks to prevent and treat cardiovascular diseases, innovate and educate on emerging and novel terrorism threats, use creative arts and humanities to promote healing and wellness— all projects are impactful.
Because of this passion for impact through scholarly work, UNO has experienced tremendous growth in externally funded projects over the past 10 years. As faculty and staff strive to increase the research and creative activity profile, ORCA is here to support them!
We have increased our educational efforts for research administrative support staff, formed an Advisory Committee with representatives from each college, and have grown our research development activities to increase grant winning percentage.
Feel free to reach out with comments and suggestions so we can better support UNO in it research and creative endeavors.
