Greetings from our Program Coordinator

Selecting an appropriate graduate preparation program will be one of the most important decisions you will make in joining the profession of school psychology. Thank you for considering a graduate degree in school psychology at UNO! Our program has been developed to make sure our graduates have all the skills they need to excel in this incredible profession by functioning as scientist-practitioners in service to children and their families, schools, and communities.

The program emphasizes an indirect service delivery approach that is oriented in data-based problem-solving and is responsive to cultural and ecological contexts. Although indirect approaches are emphasized (e.g., consultation, assessment, prevention, and early intervention), graduates are prepared to apply direct psychological services (e.g., individual, group, and systems level interventions) when conditions warrant. We partner with area schools and community agencies so that our students get to practice everything they are learning.

Our faculty include nationally recognized experts who are here to mentor you through our program and our staff are here for you through every step of your graduate experience.

We’re honored that you’re visiting our program via our website – please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions you may have. School psychologists make a difference in the lives of children and youth!
