Wear Black, Give Back 2026.


Wear Black, Give Back kicks off on Oct. 7 at noon. For 24 hours, the University of Nebraska at Omaha community will come together to show their campus pride and extend their support to the students and programs that make UNO special. This year, the College of Arts and Sciences has XNUM giving challenges and matches that allow donors to amplify their giving. Learn more about them below!

  • Anonymous: College of Arts and Sciences Challenge: If 100 people give $5 or more to support programs within the UNO College of Arts and Sciences during Wear Black, Give Back, we'll unlock a $500 gift to the college from an anonymous donor.
  • Anonymous: Political Science Challenge: If 25 people give $5 or more to support UNO Political Science during Wear Black, Give Back, we'll unlock a $2,000 gift to the program from an anonymous donor!
  • Bill and Monica Blizek: Journal of Religion and Film Challenge: If 35 donors give $5 or more to support the Journal of Religion and Film during Wear Black, Give Back, we'll unlock a $5,000 gift for the journal from Bill and Monica Blizek!
  • Mark and Donelle Stokes: College of Arts and Sciences Stretch Challenge: If 300 people give $5 or more to programs in the College of Arts and Sciences, then Mark ('90) & Donelle ('92) Stokes will give a bonus $1,500 to support the college and its students!
  • Melanie Bloom: A&S Staff Fund for Excellence Challenge: If 35 people give $5 or more to support the A&S Staff Fund for Excellence during Wear Black, Give Back, then Dean Melanie Bloom will give a bonus $1,000 to support staff in the college!
  • Myers Family Charitable Fund: Industrial/Organizational Psychology Challenge: If 50 donors make a gift of $5 or more to Industrial/Organizational Psychology, $5,000 will be unlocked!
  • Ryan Feagan: English Department Challenge: If 20 people give $5 or more to support UNO's Department of English during Wear Black, Give Back, then Ryan Feagan ('02) will give a bonus $500 to support the program!
  • Ryan Feagan: Philosophy Challenge: If 20 people give $5 or more to support UNO Philosophy during Wear Black, Give Back, we'll unlock a $500 gift from Ryan Feagan ('02)!
  • Vickey Parks and Victor & Joyce Parks: Black Studies Challenge: If 50 people give $5 or more to support UNO Black Studies during Wear Black, Give Back, then Vickey Parks will give $1,050 to the program in memory of Omaha 54 member Vicki Webb, and Victor and Joyce Parks will give $1,025 in memory of Omaha 54 member Archie Godfrey, Jr.
