Biography

My first career was medical technology. I started writing poetry in 1980, received an MFA in poetry writing in 1983 and a PhD in composition/rhetoric in 1991, both from the University of Pittsburgh.

Teaching Interests

Composition studies, rhetoric, ethnic studies, Jewish-American literature, poetry writing

Research Interests

Computers and composition, critical thinking, intellectual property
