Getting Into the Course That's Right For You

Placement Exams help us match your abilities and experience with a discipline to the corresponding UNO course.

Several academic disciplines on campus require that you have placement in one of their courses, to ensure that you’re ready for the content in that course.

For example, a student who has only completed high school coursework in algebra, may not be ready to take calculus. So, the math department requires that you take a placement test to see which level of math you are ready for.

Other departments including English and chemistry have similar tests and placements.

Find out more about placement in each of the following disciplines:

  • Chemistry
  • English
  • Foreign Language
  • Math
