Check Your Progress & Plan Your Future

What is Degree Works?

Degree Works is an online degree audit that lists all of a student’s requirements in an easily readable format. The information in Degree Works can be viewed by your academic advisor or faculty advisor as well as you.

Why should I use Degree Works?

It is a great tool for helping you stay on track for graduation and to prepare for advising appointments. You can explore with your advisor different possibilities if you are thinking about making a change to your academic program.

Where can I access Degree Works?

Students have access to Degree Works through their MavLINK homepage.

How can Degree Works tell me when I’m ready to apply for graduation?

When you sign up for your last semester of classes, Degree Works should show:

  • Progress bar at 98% completion (Not 97% or 99%)
  • Credits showing 100 % complete
    • No RED should be in your report

How to read and understand Degree Works

The audit is broken up into the different requirements needed to complete your program, such as General Education requirements, Major requirements, etc. View the powerpoint below to learn more about DegreeWorks and how you can use it to better understand your degree requirements.

How to use the "What if" function in Degree Works

You can use the "what if" function to view the different majors, minors, concentrations, and/or certificate programs at UNO that you are interested in. It will allow you to see the requirements for each option and what courses you have completed that can be applied towards each one. See the tutorial below for instructions.

How to use the "Look Ahead" function in Degree Works

You can use the "Look Ahead" function to see an audit showing courses for which you plan to register in future terms and how they would apply toward your degree requirements. See the tutorial below for instructions.
