Funded through student fees, the Student Government Association (SGA) has implemented various projects and initiatives that have positively influenced the UNO community and enriched the student experience. Explore some of the key initiatives.
Student Legal Services – Confidential Support, Student Backed
Funded by Student Government, Student Legal Services offers registered UNO students access to a licensed attorney at no cost. This confidential service allows students to receive professional legal advice and representation without the worry of financial burden.
By providing this resource, Student Government ensures that all students can seek professional guidance with confidence and privacy.
MavRIDE Bus Pass – Ride Free, Travel Green!
The MavRIDE Bus Pass, offers students, faculty, and staff free, unlimited rides on Metro Transit through a partnership with Omaha Metro Transit and the university. This initiative aims to lessen the strain of campus parking, provide greater accessibility, and encourage sustainable transportation.
By promoting public transit use, UNO becomes a more mobile community and supports a greener campus.

MavBike $5 Annual Pass – Cycle Smart, Save Big!
Through a partnership with Heartland BCycle, the MavBike Program provided students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to purchase an annual bike pass for just $5, a significant discount from the typical $156 fee.
By signing up with their UNO email and entering the code MAVBIKE24, participants gain access to a network of electric bike stations located throughout the Dodge and Scott campuses, as well as Omaha Metro Area.

Unity Week – Join in the Maverick Spirit!

Unity Week is organized through a collaborative partnership among SGA and the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement, the Office of Spirit, Traditions, and Signature Events, and the Office of Engagement.
The week offers a schedule of programs and activities designed to strengthen community, encourage student involvement, and celebrate the shared experiences that unite the UNO campus.
