Alumni Update
Ryan grew up in Elkhorn, NE, where he learned the importance of serving the public at a very early age with his father working as the Fire Chief of Elkhorn and his mother working as a nurse. Ryan obtained his B.S. in Public Administration from University of Nebraska-Kearney and his M.S. in Urban Studies from University of Nebraska-Omaha. He is an advocate for creating equitable cities and neighborhoods for all through community driven organizing, planning, and development. Ryan currently works as a Senior Organizer at Heartland Workers Center, where he works to develop and organizes leaders, promotes workers’ rights, and fosters a culture of civic engagement in order to build power and create change with immigrant and underrepresented communities. In his free time, Ryan enjoys going to concerts, traveling to new cities, and spending time with his family, friends and his dog Atticus.
