Alumni Update
Dr. Richter is an Associate Professor of Practice and Communication Design Coordinator in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where she teaches audio production, podcasting, and communication design. A longtime broadcaster, producer, voice talent, and podcasting professional, she brings extensive industry experience to her teaching and creative work. She earned her Ph.D. in Public Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2026. Her dissertation examined how statewide nonprofit newsrooms in the Great Plains put public-service journalism into practice. Her research and professional interests focus on the future of journalism, nonprofit media, and audio storytelling’s role in serving communities. In 2026–2027, she will present at the Mobile Me&You Conference, ARNOVA, and the Midwest Journalism Conference.
