Bio
Tracy McTavish Mlady is a second-year doctoral student at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, with research interests in digital governance, analytics, and data literacy. She was raised in Wood River, Nebraska. She received a B.S. degree in Family Science and an M.A. in Educational Administration with a focus on Higher Education, both from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Most of Tracy’s higher education career has been in institutional research, including various roles in the Institutional Effectiveness department at Metropolitan Community College (MCC). She currently holds the position of Associate Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness at MCC. In this role, Tracy leads a team that supports increased data literacy and usage to support data-informed decision-making at the college. She serves on the College’s Cabinet and represents Institutional Effectiveness on MCC’s Modernization Initiative.
Tracy is also a member of the Association of Institutional Researchers (AIR) and serves on the North Central Region board for the Society of College and University Planning (SCUP). She has served as a mentor for the TeamMates Mentoring Organization since 2011 and as secretary for the Bellevue Chapter Board of the TeamMates Mentoring Organization. Tracy was also a member of the Women’s Fund of Omaha Circles Class 3.
