Terrance Hancock grew up in North Omaha and became interested in the state of the built environment, public transportation and geography at an early age. He graduated from Omaha Northwest and began his collegiate studies at the University of Kansas then the University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO) where he earned a B.S. in Urban Studies under the guidance of Dr. Peter Suzuki. Upon graduation in 1996, Mr. Hancock moved to Baltimore, Maryland and earned a Master’s in City and Regional Planning from Morgan State University, an HBCU.

It was at Morgan where Mr. Hancock began to use his foundation developed at UNO as an intern with a non-profit housing advocacy organization then the State of Maryland in its transportation department as a regional planner in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Mr. Hancock set his sights on economic development with the City of Baltimore where he oversaw and administered approximately $750M of community, economic and business development projects. These projects attracted or retained nearly 5,000 jobs within the city.

Mr. Hancock joined Amtrak’s real estate development team in February 2017 and has been an integral component in redeveloping and transforming rail stations in Baltimore, Chicago and Philadelphia through public, private partnerships.
