Alumni Update
After graduating from UNO’s Urban Studies program, Susan obtained an M.A. in Grants, Grant Writing and Evaluation at Concordia University in Chicago. Since 2015, Susan has worked for the Grants Division of Louisville Metro Government’s (LMG’s) Office of Management and Budget, where her work has focused on federal grant compliance. In addition to conducting annual compliance monitorings, Susan has provided technical assistance and training to the many LMG agencies that manage more than $50 million in federal grant programs each year. In early 2020, Susan became LMG’s first ever Grants Advisor and now advises agency staff on all grant matters, from pre-application through closeout, including financials and compliance. During the coronavirus emergency, Susan has coordinated the more than $150,000,000 in COVID funds LMG has received to date, which has necessitated working closely with Mayor Greg Fischer’s office and leadership throughout LMG. Susan lives in downtown Louisville with her husband, Brian, and enjoys classic movies and wildlife photography
