Alumni UpdateDr. Deniz Zeynep Leuenberger is the Chief of Staff at Bridgewater State University. She is a respected 10-year member of the Bridgewater faculty, serving as a Professor of Public Administration and Political Science. As Chief of Staff, she leads and directs strategic planning for the university, as befitting her background and expertise in planning; data-driven decision-making; stakeholder engagement; and community, environmental and social sustainability. Dr. Leuenberger also works to coordinate the activities of the Office of the President.
Dr. Leuenberger has recently served as faculty director of BSU’s Institute for Policy Analysis and Regional Engagement; faculty director of the Massachusetts Certified Public Managers Program; program director of the Global Education and Leadership Program in the Center for Legislative Studies; and coordinator of the Political Science Internship Program. She has also served as coordinator of the Center for Sustainability and as the faculty director of the Institute for Regional Development. She has held leadership positions in several ASPA sections including ABFM, STPA, and SWPA. Dr. Leuenberger is the co-author of the book Sustainable Development for Public Administration with Dr. John Bartle, and the author of numerous journal articles and book chapters.
