Alumni Update

As Associate Vice President for Research and Evaluation at Nebraska Children and Families Foundation, Catherine oversees the broad scope of foundation-funded research and evaluation efforts that relate to the development of knowledge intended to ensure the effective stewardship of the resources invested in Nebraska Children. Additionally, her responsibilities include the annual development and ongoing management of Nebraska Children’s Child Well-Being Indicators and providing evaluation support to Nebraska Children’s Child Well-Being Communities through her work as a local evaluator.

Catherine, who is trained as a qualitative and quantitative researcher and whose research expertise relates to the role of organized philanthropy in democratic societies, joined Nebraska Children and Families Foundation in 2015. Her prior work experience spans the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, and includes five years with the United States Government Accountability Office (GAO) where, as a senior analyst, she led and managed research teams to provide Congress with objective, nonpartisan information and to help improve the performance and accountability of the federal government.

Catherine holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She also holds a master’s degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College, a master’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Kentucky, and a master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Kentucky
