Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals

Rooted in its mission to “inspire excellence by removing barriers through exposure, skill development, access, mentoring, and advocacy,” and guided by its vision “to drive excellence through representation in aerospace,” OBAP champions the full participation of underrepresented communities in aviation and aerospace by equipping individuals with tools, opportunities, and pathways to succeed. Through dynamic programs, scholarships, and mentoring networks, OBAP not only opens doors for aspiring professionals but strengthens industry-wide diversity and leadership—ensuring the aerospace field better reflects the people it serves.

UNOBAP is a student chapter of OBAP National and an extension of its robust mission to inspire excellence by removing barriers through exposure, skill development, access, mentoring and advocacy. As a student chapter in the Omaha area, we aim to bolster the cognizance of aviation/aerospace within the UNO and Omaha communities. Current data trends demonstrate the industry is lacking diversity in terms of race, ethnicity, and gender despite the diversification of the U.S. workforce. UNOBAP yearns to change that narrative via increasing minoritized participation rates in the industry via its outreach events, community service, volunteerism. We welcome and look forward to having you be a part of this change.
