Interested in learning more about cybersecurity? Our certificate program is available both in-person and online, giving you the flexibility to build your knowledge while still working full-time. Credits earned can be applied to the MS in Cybersecurity degree.

Program Requirements (12 credit hours)

  • CYBR 8366 – Foundations of Information Assurance
  • Choose one:
    CYBR 8410 – Distributed System and Network Security
    CYBR 8420 – Software Assurance
    CYBR 8490 – Cyber Investigations
  • Two additional classes are required from the list of Concentration Courses available for the Cyber Operations concentration in the MS in CYBR.

Application and Admissions Information

Application Materials

To apply, create an account in the UNO Admissions system, upload your required documents, and complete the application form. In addition to the required form fields, you will need the following materials to complete your application:

  • Current resume or CV
  • Official transcripts of college coursework. Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.00 (or equivalent on a 4.00 scale)
  • Undergraduate degree*
  • Students whose language of nurture is not English must must have a minimum TOEFL score of
    550 (paper-based) / 80 (Internet-based), or an IELTS overall score of 6.5.

*Incoming certificate students that do not have a cybersecurity background may also require Foundation Courses as needed prerequisites, depending on which core courses are selected and depending on the background of the student.
