Cecilia Saavedra, one of the recipients of the CenturyLink Scholarship, poses with Dr. Ali, Dr. Khazanchi, and a representative from CenturyLink.

Grace Martinez, a recipient of the Chancellor's Scholarship, smiles with Dr. Ali and Dr. Khazanchi.

Maria Stathopoulos is this year's recipient of the Jean Hartranft Holtmann Scholarship.

The scholarship winners include the prestigious Walter Scott Jr. Scholars, UNO IS&T Regents Scholars, the Women in IT Initiative scholars, Scholarship for Service, and a number of other privately funded scholarship awardees.

These scholarships come at a time of substantial grown at IS&T. Over 40 of companies offer IT internships for IS&T students, and students make a median salary of $60,000 upon graduating. Thanks to programs like the Women in IT Initiative, IS&T is more diverse than ever before, with a 93% increase of female students over the last 5 years. Bosting a retention rate of 84% for freshman to sophomore students, IS&T is seeing more and more students enroll and stay. And with programs like cybersecurity, selected as one of the top cybersecurity programs by the Military Times, it's easy to see why.
